The most common and accessible way to travel from Rishikesh to Kedarnath is by bus. Mainly buses operated by UTTARAKHAND TRANSPORT CORPORATION leave from the Rishikesh bus stand in the morning. The UTC operates only non-ac buses from Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun to Kedarnath. The duration of the journey is around 8-10 hours. TRAVEL BY TRAIN-   There is no direct train connectivity from Rishikesh to Kedarnath because there is no railway station in Kedarnath or anywhere nearby. The nearest railway station to Kedarnath is in Rishikesh which is about 216km away so you can rent a cab from Rishikesh and that will be the best way to reach Sonprayag. From Sonprayag, you have to take a sharing taxi to Gaurikund (The last motor station). From Gaurikund you have to start your trek to Kedarnath.
